IT'S A BOY!!!!

So, I had the appointment with the doctor today to find out the sex of the little bambino and IT'S A BOY!!!! I'm so excited that I can hardly stand it!!! I had a feeling it was a little boy- and I was riiiight! haha. I would have been happy either way, but this just makes everything so real!!!! I can't wait to meet him soon! Everything looked great on the ultrasound and the doctor said everything was perfect! He weighs 11 ounces right now, which is perfect too! I will post some pictures tonight of him showing us his "stuff" so that we knew he was a boy. He wasn't to shy about it towards the end. Well, I love you everyone and just can't wait to meet him! Thanks for everything!

Here are some images from when I went to the Doc yesterday. In the first one, he's hiding from Mommy, but it's a good pic of his ear- and it looks fully developed already!!! The 2,3 and 4 picture are of his "stuff". There is a tiny arrow pointing to it- I'm sure he'll be happy to know that I put this on the internet once he gets older....but it's so cute haha! And the last picture are of his adorable little feet! I can't wait to see him!! I already love him more than words can describe!

19 WEEKS!!!!

New News!

Baby's now the size of a mango!
Vernix caseosa, a greasy white substance made of lanugo, oil, and dead skin cells (yum) now coats baby's skin, shielding it from the amniotic fluid. (Picture yourself after a nine-month bath, and the need for protection makes sense.) You might get to see the vernix at birth, especially if baby is premature.

Also, here is a picture of my belly as of 19 weeks! The little one is really starting to grow now! The past couple of mornings I have woken up and thought that I've felt bigger...crazy! I probably look big too, because I ate breakfast for dinner with some of the girlfriends last night (Whit and Katie!!!). It was reeeallly good though!

FYI: I will be making a post on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 31st (This Wed.) because I find out the sex of the bambino!!! I'm sooo excited! Make your guesses below (Under comments) and we'll see who is right on Wed.! LOVE YOU ALL!

WEEK 18!!!!

Sooo... Here are the Belly Pics! The gray sweatshirt is week 16, the gray sweatpants with the black/blue top is week 17 and the one in jeans is week 18. Now, I'll post them week-by- week so it isn't confusing! I'm a little embarrassed by some of these pics because A) I think they look bigger than I actually am and B) I feel I look a little fat and not prego. So I'm a little self conscious about them. I feel like I look smaller from the front, but these are probably more accurate-haha.

Baby's now the size of a sweet potato!
Baby's become amazingly mobile (compared to you, at least), passing the hours yawning, hiccupping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking, and swallowing. And baby is finally big enough that you'll soon be able to feel its movements.

Head to rump, your baby is approximately 5 1/2inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and weighs almost 7 ounces. It's busy flexing its arms and legs - movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, although he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.

Keep updated, not this Wed., but the NEXT Wed. we find out the SEX of the BABY!!! I Can't Wait!!!! YAY!!!

17 WEEKS!!!!

New News!

This week the baby is the size of an onion (about 5.1 inches long and 5.9 ounces in weight)!!! The skeleton is hardening now- changing from rubbery cartilage to bone and fat is finally accumulating around its body. The umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger and those little fingers and toes now have one of a kind finer prints!!! -thebump.com

Also, I'm not completely sure, but I think I can feel the little rascal moving inside me sometimes. If I'm right, then we're going to have an awfully active little one once it's time for arrival! Nothing more to really report other than I cant wait to find out the sex of the baby! Also, I think I'll wait until next week to post belly pics, but I'm definitely growing-slowly, but surely that is.

Baby Pics!

Here are a few of my ultrasound pictures that I got at the doctor about a month ago! You can see all sorts of parts on the baby, such as the spine, hands, arms, legs, knees, feet, body and head! When I go to the Doctor next and get more pictures I will post those asap! (March 31st to find out the sex!)

Also, today the baby is 16 weeks and 1 days- some things that are happening: The skeletal system will continue to grow and now that the finger and toe pads are formed the baby will soon begin to form fingerprints! The bones in the inner ear and nerve endings will develop enough so that the baby will begin to hear sounds- like my voice and heartbeat!

Be on the look-out, I'll start to post belly-pics here soon! Even though I don't think I'm starting to show quite yet!

SEX of baby UPDATE!

New News!

So i was originally supposed to find out the sex of the baby on April 1st, 2010...However the sonographer will not be in that day so it has changed! Mark you calendar's for MARCH 31st!!!!!! Yay, a day early!

That's all!

Hola El Bambino

So, I have been talking with some people and thought that this is probably the best way to keep everyone of my firends and family involved and updated on what's going on with me and the baby!

I guess I should start off by telling everyone that I am officially 15 weeks and 6 Days today- by doctor standards. I think I'm a week or two behind them, but for purposes made simple...we'll go with 15 weeks 6 Days today :)

I know everyone has a lot of questions to ask me about this pregnancy and I'll try to answer all of them for you! I'm sure some of you have heard some sort of story about how this happened and it may be correct or it may not be! If you heard it from me or the Family, yeah it's probably right! I'm not going to get into much of it here, but just, please feel free to ask me anything! I won't bite!

Anyways, for some good news! I have gotten tested for down-syndrome and trisomy 18, which are chromosomal abnormalities that your baby could have. Basically, you go in for a First Trimester screening where they give you an ultrasound (SO COOL!!!) and then a simple blood test. Then they send your stuff out to specialists and they come back and give you an esitmate on how likely it is that your child could have either abnormality. Welp, mine came back perfect! Which is amazing news! They told me that the chance of my baby having either down syndrome or trisomy 18 was 1 in 10,000- and that's the highest they go! So, the results were basically negative for both of the abnormalities and that is just wonderful news!

When I went there (Maternal Fetal Medicine-Community North) to get the ultrasound, I couldn't believe everything I could see. It was so amazing and precious and everything you could imagine- all in one picture basically. I could see the baby's heartbeat- which is very stong and healthy, I could see the arms, legs, body, spine, head/face. I saw it moving around. I saw the baby sticking it's tounge out, opening and closing it's mouth (Practicing how to swallow and suck already...crazy, I know!). I will post those pics on here for everyone to see! They are really neat- and at this time the baby was just about 3 months- and only about 2-3 inches long and about 1 once in weight!

I went to the Doctor's office for a routine check-up on Thursday (2/25/10), where I found out probably the most exciting news yet....Next appointment, April 1st, 2010 I get to find out the SEX of the baby!!! YAY!! I can't wait to know if this little nugget inside of me is a little boy or a little girl! Then the shopping will officially begin! Also, if anyone is wondering what my Doctor's name is it's Dr. Karen West- with Kiley and Henderzahs practice. She is amazing and I couldn't have asked for better doctors through this entire pregnancy. And that also goes for my family doctor and staff (Dr. Thomas Yerks)- they were amazing when I first found out that I was pregnant- and I was obviously a wreck trying to figure everything out!

I guess, that's about all for now- EXCEPT I forgot to tell everyone the due date! Which of course is a huge deal! So, the baby is expected to be arriving on August 21st, 2010!!! So, be ready for a call around that time!

And last, but certainly not least. I really want to thank everyone in my family and my friends for being so supportive and helpful through this time. I've had a lot of emotions running through me and you have all helped me out beyond words... So thanks again and I hope you are all excited! I'll try and not be to needy while preggers! LOVE YOU!
